The Second Phase of China Star Optoelectronics Technology Equipments Holds its Inaugural Ceremony in China Merchants Western Shenzhen Terminals

On December 4th, 2014, the second phase of China Star Optoelectronics Technology equipments holds its inaugural ceremony in China Merchants Western Shenzhen Terminals (SCT), and leaders and representatives from CU Lines, Sinotrans and SCT attended this ceremony.

At around 12 noon, as the “South China-Taiwan” direct route-- NSCT1 of CU Lines slowly sailed into SCT and called at the terminal,the second phase of China Star Optoelectronics Technology equipments successfully arrived in Shenzhen from Kaohsiung Taiwan.

Since most of the cargos on board were high precision equipments for factory construction, different types of special containers with special vessels were required so as the reliability of terminal operation. SCT fully exploited its advantage in special cargo operation, and with the thorough plan and seamless connection of each link, SCT successfully completed the inaugural operation task of China Star Optoelectronics Technology Phase II, while effectively coordinating with the port departments for rapid customs clearance to reduce the cost of shipper to the utmost.

It was reported that, as the biggest single industry investment project in Shenzhen’s history, the total investment of China Star Optoelectronics Technology Phase II was 24.4 billion RMB. As planned, the total transportation scale of the Phase II project would reach above 4,000 FEU, including more than 1,000 FEU of imported equipments from Taiwan.

The maiden voyage of China Star Optoelectronics Technology Phase II not only meant a lot to the economic exchanges and trade for Taiwan and mainland, but also vitally important to SCT. With this special operation task, the terminal’s ability of handling special mega project were fully tested, while laying a solid foundation for similar projects in the future, which set a highly efficient and reliable brand image for China Merchants Western Shenzhen Terminals.
