China Merchants Western Shenzhen Terminals Holds 2014 Customer Communication Session

On December 18th,2014, China Merchants Western Shenzhen Terminals held 2014 Customer Communication Session, attracting more than 150 customers from shipping companies, barge companies, shipping agencies and 3PLs to join the session.

This session focused on the presentation of the investment on terminal facilities and resources, new development on shipping and barge network, terminal information system, operation efficiency and customs clearance, etc. while presenting various measures in improving customer services to ensure the maximum satisfaction of customers. Besides, the new barge service platform system “Smart Port” was also presented to the customers in advance.

Mr. Eric Yim, Managing Director of China Merchants Western Shenzhen Terminals (SCT), introduced the terminal development in 2014, and he also analyzed the market situation in 2015 and shared his ideas on port management and development in the “new normal” shipping industry with the attendees. He mentioned that, in 2014, China Merchants Western Shenzhen Terminals lived up to all expectations and broke their performance record: the shipping routes of the terminals reached 142, and the total container throughput of both SCT and CCT would reach 9.8 million TEU, with a YOY increase of 4.1%.

Mr. Yim also mentioned that, in the challenging year of 2015, China Merchants Western Shenzhen Terminals would comply with the development trend of the industry, continue to integrate and optimize the terminal resource and reinforce the close cooperation with shipping companies with the customer-oriented management principle to gain a better development for the terminals.  (Reported by Lin Shaojuan; Picture by Zhou Wei)
