On the afternoon of June 9th, 2015, the second session of the eighth council meeting was held in the Grand Mercury Hotel Shenzhen by Shenzhen Ports Association. The session was held by Mr. Patrick Lam, the President of the association, with the attendance of Mr. Eric Yim, Mr. Benjamin Lai, Mr. Qu Jiandong, Mr. Wang Renyuan, Mr. Patrick Wong, Mr. Zhuang Shicheng, Mr. He Yongan, Mr. Mo Yinyi and about 40 other members of the Council, member companies and the Association Supervision .

Shenzhen Ports Association Work Report 2014 and the Financial Report 2014 & Budget Statement 2015 were briefed by Mr. Jiang Yansheng, the Secretary General of the Association. And it was recognized that the association made efforts in defending rights and interests, reflecting demands and providing services, while assisting government departments to organize the 4^th Shenzhen World Ports Strategy Forum, the 8th Shenzhen Occupational Skills Innovation Games, the 6^th National Vocational Skills Competition for the Transport Industry and other events, which further promoted the Association’s influence.

The Council was fully affirming of the Association’s accomplishments in 2014 while new requests for the future work. Mr. Patrick Lam, President of the Association, pointed out that, in the future, the association would continue to work for the common issues of the industry and common interests of the members, to learn the difficulties in members’ business management, to reflect demands of our members and to defend the interest of the industry. And the Association should also coordinate closely with the government and administrative departments for better serving the members and promoting the construction of the Maritime Silk Road, so as to dedicate ourselves to building Shenzhen Port as the gateway and hub port for the Maritime Silk Road. Mr. Lam expected more of the Association Secretarial in their future work. 

The Proposal on Association Personnel Adjustment was briefed by the Council. Mr. Zhuang Shicheng, Station Master of Shenzhen Port Pilot Station, and Mr. Mo Yinyi, Vice General Manager of China Merchants Port Service (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., were elected to be the Vice President of the Association, while Mr. He Yongan, Vice President of Guangdong Dapeng LNG Company Ltd, was elected to be the Vice President of the Association as well as the Director of the Oil, Gas and Chemical Specialized Committee.

At the end of the session, Proposal on the Establishment of the Vocational Skills Training Institute of the Association, Proposal on the Association Regulation Amendments and other proposals were briefed and adopted.
