New Inspection and Quarantine Disinfection Platform has officially passed the examination and put into service in Qianhai Bay Bonded Port Zone (MCT) on August 18, 2014, which marked the marine sanitary processing service in MCT officially starts its 24-hour operation.

The Inspection and Quarantine sanitary processing service mainly focus on spraying disinfection onto the transshipped waste container, in order to exterminate pathogenic microbes and prevent contagious diseases spreading through sanitary processing. The new platform not only builds a electronic information network to introduce the information on the platform to the Inspection and Quarantine Port Customs Declaration Management System so as to realize the electronization of marine sanitary processing service and real-time verification of relevant information for a higher operation efficiency; but also construct a video surveillance system to reinforce the daily supervision management of sanitary processing service so as to secure the quality of sanitary processing and improve supervision level of the diseases prevention and control in inspection and quarantine service.

When the new service mode starts its operation, companies could handle one-stop business directly on the platform without bookings, which saves them a lot of time. And since the sanitary processing platform provides services on the junction point for container yard and marine services, the containers which need spraying disinfection are able to be handled promptly without repeated loading and unloading, which greatly reduces the operation cost of companies.
