On January 9th, 2015, the 11th China Freight Industry Awards was announced. Shekou Container Ternimal (SCT) and Dachan Bay Terminal One (DCB 1) won the Awards of Top Ten Container Terminals in terms of Comprehensive Services, with their excellent comprehensive port services and high efficiency, while SCT also won the Award of Best Green Container Terminal.
China Freight Industry Awards, also known as the Oscar of shipping industry, was organized yearly by the China Shipping Gazette for 11 years. Ever since the first Awards in 1999, the port companies of Shenzhen had won awards of many categories with their industry influence power, customer services, market reputation, terminal management and other outstanding performance. For example, Yantian International Container Terminals had won the awards for Excellent Container Terminal, Gold Medal for Best Container Terminal Operator, Gold Medal for Best Container Terminal of Operation Efficiency and Excellent Container Terminal Operator of Technology Innovation, etc.; while Dachan Bay Terminal One had won the Awards for Top Ten Container Terminal of Operation Efficiency and Distribution; and Shekou Container Terminal had won the Top Ten Container Terminals in terms of Comprehensive Services for several concessive years.
In the 11th China Freight Industry Awards, Shekou Container Terminal also won the Award of Best Green Container Terminal for the first time with their accomplishments in green terminal construction. Shekou Container Terminal is one of those who practice the green and low-carbon innovation theory, and was named as the Demonstrative Unit of Low-Carbon Port by the Ministry of Transport in February, 2012.
