Located at the east bank of Pearl River in the Southwest Shenzhen City and 20 nautical miles from HongKong, Shekou Container Terminals (SCT) is a renowned ocean gateway for global shippers and carriers seeking access to and from South China. As the first international container terminal of Chinese-foreign joint venture established in 1989, SCT is now jointly invested in by China Merchants Holdings (International) Co., Ltd., the largest public port operator in China, and Hong Kong Modern Terminals. With well-recognized terminal management and state-of-the-art facilities, SCT operates nine mega vessel berths and five dedicated barge berths with 4,090 meters of length and provides round-the-clock and year-round services to about 90 weekly liner callings of ocean-going services. As the operator of China’s first “low-carbon demonstration terminals” appointed by the Ministry of Transport, SCT has received nationwide notice for its use of an electric rubber-tire gantry crane fleet and Alternative Maritime Power.
